GreenFlame is not a description of the color of the fire. It is Harvia’s name for a renewed wood-burning fire-chamber approach developed around more controlled, efficient combustion. The intention is not to remove the character of a traditional sauna fire, but to refine what happens inside the heater so the same ritual can move toward cleaner wood burning.

The GreenFlame fire chamber manages the flow of air through the burning process more deliberately. This supports cleaner combustion while maintaining reliable heat production and the visible fire that gives a wood-burning sauna its living atmosphere.

Compared with Harvia’s earlier comparable fire-chamber design, GreenFlame is reported to produce approximately 20% fewer small-particle emissions and 70% lower carbon-monoxide emissions.

A GreenFlame heater still requires a properly planned venting path. The chimney and connecting components must be compatible with the selected heater, the sauna structure, the route through the building, and applicable installation requirements. The heater creates the fire and heat. The chimney gives that fire a safe and functional path outward.

The heater and chimney should be treated as one coordinated installation rather than two unrelated purchases. Confirm compatibility, required components, clearances, and local requirements with a qualified installer before installation.
