Material With Longevity
Rust-free cast aluminum gives Whitehall pieces substance, detail and outdoor durability while remaining suited to changing seasons and demanding weather.
Quiet objects for living again in relationship with the cycles around us.
Whitehall Products has been handcrafting decorative and functional outdoor pieces in the United States since 1941. Its cast-metal tradition was built around objects intended to remain part of the home and landscape for years.
The collection brings together clocks, thermometers, sundials and garden pieces, treating everyday function with the same care as form.
But within Between Living, their meaning reaches further. Whitehall’s objects make the quiet signals of the natural world visible again: passing hours, changing light, shifting temperature and season.
The deeper invitation is attunement: allowing what is happening around us to inform how we live within it. Morning light arrives, and the body begins to wake. Darkness comes, and the body moves toward rest. Heat asks us to cool, hydrate and slow down. Cold draws us toward warmth and shelter.
This is not about watching nature from a distance. It is about remembering that the body has always belonged inside these rhythms.
Whitehall does not create the rhythm. It gives us small, physical points of reference through which we can begin to feel it again.
We chose Whitehall because these are not objects asking for attention. They help us pay attention.
Rust-free cast aluminum gives Whitehall pieces substance, detail and outdoor durability while remaining suited to changing seasons and demanding weather.
Timekeeping, temperature, sunlight and garden utility become visible parts of the landscape rather than equipment designed to disappear.
Small references to time, light, weather and season reconnect everyday living with the changing conditions around us, helping us respond rather than simply observe.
These are not simply objects for collecting information. Time, light and temperature are cues that help us locate ourselves within the day and respond to what is happening around us. Attunement begins when information becomes action: when light, hour, warmth and cooling begin to influence how we move, rest, gather, shelter and care for the place around us.
Time is more than a number. It helps us place eating, movement, work and rest back within the arc of the day.
Temperature is a cue to the body: when to seek shade, hydrate and slow down, or when to layer, warm ourselves and draw inward.
A sundial returns time to its original reference: the sun. Following its movement reconnects the hours with light, shadow and the natural progression from activity toward rest.
Read together, time and temperature tell us more than either can alone: where we are in the day, what the environment is doing, and how we might respond to both.
Attunement does not end with observation. It becomes participation: watering, tending and caring for the living place around us.
Whitehall gives everyday objects enough craft, ornament and presence to stand comfortably beside furniture, planting and architecture.
Objects that work like instruments and live like art.
